Product Name

AMMO Allwormer Paste for Horses

Classification

OTC

Heading

Anthelmintic

Subheading

AMMO Allwormer kills >(greater than or equal to sign) 99% of all major worms. For year round protection use as part of a regular worming program.

Composition

Abamectin 4 mg/g

Morantel Tartrate 167 mg/g

Actions

Abamectin acts by binding selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells. This leads to hyperpolarisation of these cells, resulting in flaccid paralysis and death of the parasite.1

Morantel is a depolarising neuromuscular blocking agent producing paralysis by causing muscle contraction.1

Indications

Treatment and control of:

Tapeworms: Anoplocephala perfoliata

Large Strongyles: adult & larval stages of Strongylus vulgaris, adult & tissue stages of S. edentatus, adult stages of S. equinus, adult stage of Triodontophorus spp

Regular treatment will reduce the chances of verminous arteritis and colic caused by S. vulgaris.

All horses should be included in a regular parasite control programme with particular attention being paid to mares, foals and yearlings. AMMO Rotational Wormer is ideal as an alternative wormer in a rotational worming program. Consult your veterinarian for a control programme to meet your specific needs.

Handy Hint

Make sure you remove manure regularly from all horse areas (paddocks and stables) to help minimise re-infestation.
